About

Hi, I’m Andrea! I’m a Chicago-based filmmaker and producer, specializing in documentary and commercial content.

As a commercial producer, I’ve worked in production and post, line producing and post producing for various clients, including Radical Media, Conde Nast, Ogilvy, Dentsu Creative, Red Flag Mania and Left Hook Media. I specialize in making small budgets go far and making cast, crew and client feel comfortable and cared for. Though I’ve helped create short films and how-to videos, my strength is working with real people and real stories.

As a documentary filmmaker, I’m interested in stories that involve legacy, community, and purpose. My first documentary short, Sick, premiered at the 2018 Chicago Underground Film Festival, and follows artist Nick Fisher as he uses Instagram art drops to create a living as an artist. My next short film Undue Burdens premiered in Chicago in 2019. The film looks at grassroots organizations fighting for abortion access in the past and present, using direct action to help patients access care. Undue Burdens screened at various festivals and was featured in Repro Film’s June 2022 Periodical. I was also a fellow of the Double Exposure Film Festival with Undue Burdens.

My third short film, Strikers, follows a Wii bowling team at an assisted living facility as they compete to become 4-year state champs. Strikers premiered at the 2021 Sarasota Film Festival and was supported by IF/Then. It’s available to screen now on Short of the Week. I also produced Amber Love’s A Galaxy Sits in the Cracks, a short documentary about Afrofuturism as a community organizing tool, which screened at film festivals across the country.

I’m currently producing two feature length documentaries: idols, directed by Brian Lu and No One Asked You, directed by Ruth Leitman. Both are expected to release between 2023-2024.
